Almost blankly, Lucy nodded in agreement. He was a good guy, and stopping to really think about him for the first time in a long time made her miss him more than she was honestly comfortable admitting. When he'd been alive, she'd had a whole life laid out for her, one that was almost too perfect, in retrospect; now, she didn't have anything remotely close to that, and she didn't think she ever would again, now that things were over with Jude.

Biting her lower lip, she took a deep breath, still unable to quite meet Max's gaze. "He wasn't the only one over there," she murmured. She just hoped that would be enough for Max to get what she meant by it -- that he was just as important, if not moreso.
