Lucy could think of worse ways to go, too, but rather than letting herself dwell on that, a war in another world that it was hopeless to protest now, she just leaned into the kiss, preferring the contact to that line of thought. With as happy as she was, she didn't need to burden herself with thoughts of dead former boyfriends or the brother she wasn't speaking to. She'd never give up her fight, not really, but she had reason enough to settle herself down for a while, and that made all the difference.

"I could think of worse places to be in general," she mused, her hand lifting to run through his hair again, just for the sake of touching him more. It hardly even seemed right to let herself start thinking in that direction, though, so she leaned in to kiss him once more. What mattered was that they were there; it wasn't worth it to waste her time thinking about worse alternatives.
