The question startled Ryan as much as her appearance at the door had, his brow raising as he glanced away. "Yeah," he said. "Yeah, I'm - I'm fine." He stood there a moment more before he pulled away. Until her clothes dried, she would need something else to wear, and turning away afforded him a moment to try and regain his composure. He needed that. He hadn't meant to let it show, but the whole thing had shaken him more than he would have expected. It didn't hurt, either, that it allowed him to turn his back to her as he added, "Marissa arrived. Last night. Out on the beach."
